Welcome to the Hoschton Animal Hospital website. Our website is just another step we have taken to provide you with the very best in veterinary service.

building

The Hoschton Animal Hospital was started in December of 1995. We were the last occupant of Hoschton's Old Train Depot.

We are now located in a modern facility constructed for the sole purpose of treating your pet at the highest level currently available in veterinary medicine.

We strive to remain up-to-date in our practice. We make use of a videoscope, radiology machine, endoscope, digital cameras, client education videos and ultrasound machine to assist us in diagnosis, treatment and educating our clients. We use isoflurane anesthesia, EKG, Blood pressure, Blood oxygen level and temperature monitor, radiocautery and a laser to assist us in surgery.

We stress dentistry and wellness care. We examine every patient for underlying dental disease. Dental disease can lead to pain or failure of the kidneys, heart or liver if left untreated. Sometimes a cleaning and antibiotics are all that are needed. Othertimes an extraction or gingival surgery is required along with pain relievers and antibiotics. We regularly recommend bloodwork for our patients before surgery, if they are over 7 years,or if they are on chronic therapeutic medications. We find 30% of patients appearing normal on exam have an underlying problem revealed in their bloodwork.

We are computerized and have equipment to do most lab work in the office while you wait. Before you check out we can formulate a diagnosis and plan of care to restore your loved one back to health. No anxious waiting for that call about lab work.

In our efforts to modernize we haven't lost the personal touch. We spend generous time with each of our clients.

Appointments are preferred so that no one is rushed. However, we do accept walk-ins because pets are unpredictable.

Emergency service is available. Emergencies are handled with compassion and skill by our doctors so that when our patients have their greatest need they can be treated by a friend they trust and who cares.

Large Animal Services are available on an out-patient basis. A fully equipped truck is available for on-the-farm services.
